Maryport and Carlisle Railway - David Hey Photo's

David Hey Maryport & Carlisle Railway Photo's - These excellent photo's were kindly sent to me by David Hey. We think the station may be Lakeside but please let us know if you think differently? The loco in the bottom three photos was built by Neilson & Co of Glasgow in 1881 - 3'-8" wheels, 14"X20" cylinders, works no 2737. The M & C renumbered the loco No R2 in 1897. The LMS allotted the number 111230, but this number was never carried. The location is probably Carlisle. The loco was withdrawn in 1924. This information is credited to John Edgington of the Friends of the NRM
