Below is a copy of the Maryport and Carlisle Railway half year report at 30th June 1891. The chairman at the time was Sir Wifred Lawson who lived at Brayton Hall. He was chairman from 1874 until 1906 and produce from his estate at Brayton was sent down the Bolton Loop to Aspatria destined for the local markets. In this report it mentions the new interlocking signals at Baggrow and Blaithwaite along with the erecting of three new workmans cottages at Mealsgate.
